Job Description:
A Furniture Designer helps clients and manufacturers make informed production and design decisions by analyzing material properties, assessing manufacturing constraints, and identifying innovative product opportunities. This role involves creating comprehensive furniture concepts, producing highly precise technical drawings, and advising on materials, finishes, and construction methods to achieve the project's structural and aesthetic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Translates sketches and aesthetic mood boards into production-ready furniture designs.
  • Generates detailed 2D fabrication drawings and 3D assembly models for manufacturing.
  • Specifies optimal materials, hardware, joinery methods, and surface finish treatments.
  • Conducts structural testing, ergonomics evaluations, and cost-of-production analyses.
  • Collaborates with production workshops to guide prototypes from CAD to final product.
  • Coordinates project timelines, external vendors, and overall budgets.
Requirements:
  • Holds a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, or Product Design.
  • Demonstrates expert in parametric CAD software like SolidWorks, Rhino, or Fusion 360.
  • Exhibits advanced skills in product rendering engines such as KeyShot, V-Ray, or Blender.
  • Understands CNC machining workflows, digital fabrication, and industrial manufacturing.
  • Showcases an outstanding portfolio highlighting digital CAD files and completed prototypes.
